Behind the scenes of Beyond the Bubble
What have we been up to?
Beyond the Bubble is a group series that I designed to help small business owners discover ways to market their business outside of social media.
As we are faced with a turbulent time and mass migration from various social platforms, it’s sensible to develop other ways of talking to your existing and prospective target audience/clients.
We’re just past half way through and so I thought a little update was in order.
Week one - the brain dump
The first week gave all participants to send me their plans, worries, questions and thoughts about marketing so that I could give them some 121 feedback before we started. It also meant I could make sure to adapt parts of the series so it worked as well as it could for each person.
I LOVE this part. My 121 advice at this level not something you would normally have access to, but when I tell you the bubblers made the most of it, boy did they! Loved it.
Week two - existing communities and networks
I took everyone through an exercise that meant they got to know WHO they would be marketing to, based on their customer personas (that we developed together) and existing networks.

Week three - snail mail
We discovered how snail mail can be used by anyone to engage with their target customers at any stage of their relationship with them. Whether it’s bringing in a new client to the business or contacting past customers, there’s LOADS of fun to be had with snail mail and it’s a great way to cut through a noisy digital marketing landscape.

Week four - it’s PR time baby!
This week was pre-recorded so I took everyone through the types of PR coverage you can get and how accessible it can be if you include it in your communications plans even once or twice a year.
These are some of the places I’ve got coverage for clients in the past
Then reading week commenced - we took a breather and everyone had a chance to catchup
Stay tuned for the wrap up of the series, where I will be sharing testimonials and results from the participants (the Bubblers).
