The Power of Community

It’ll come as no surprise that I think about the importance and power of community, a lot. A lot a lot.

I see it every single day and forget that other people don’t see it in action as much as I do. So here’s why I’m on a mission to not only continue to hold space for it, but to protect it too.

Being self-employed is fucking amazing, I could never go back to employment (unless I was forced to), but it can also be deeply isolating.

Without coworkers, office chats about what you’re having for tea, or a built-in support system, the daily grind can start to feel properly lonely. This is exactly the reason why Wild exists. And in today’s world where we’re facing a fascist government on our doorstep, division, digital overload, and post-pandemic fatigue (I will die on the hill of reminding people that this is still a thing); connection isn’t just nice to have, it’s essential. It’s where the JOY is and boiiiii do we need more of that.

We can only affect change if we’re standing side by side in the face of adversity.

Being part of Wild isn’t just about networking or promoting your work/yourself. It’s about sharing wins and failures with people who understand exactly where you are and how you feel. It’s about accountability, encouragement, and remembering you're not in this alone. My aim is to make sure everyone feels seen, heard and valued. And right now, in a world that often feels divided and, let’s face it, unstable, choosing to build or join a community is an act of rebellion.

A text from a Wild member that reads. Morning everyone! I just wanted to say how much I needed the in-person coworking yesterday. It was so nice to be around other people who just get it especially after being in my own head all week...

A screenshot from a member summing the meaning of community and the power of Wild up perfectly.

Whether it’s ours or not, find yourself a community where you can be completely yourself.

Finding your people can be simple too:

  • Come along to one of our weekly zoom calls either virtual coworking or goal setting

  • Come along to an in-person coworking day ‘Cowork and Connect’

  • Head to the group chat where people share ideas, cheer each other on, collaborate and talk (a lot) about stationery.

Even a couple of authentic connections with kind, like-minded people can make all the difference.

So if you’re feeling the weight of doing it all, join us. I can assure you you’ll be surrounded by people who either feel exactly the same right now or have been where you are today.

You don’t have to do this alone.
